San Isidro Festival 2026: Emilio de Justo, Borja Jiménez and Víctor Hernández, a day of maximum demand at Las Ventas

Show and Line-up Overview – San Isidro Festival 2026

On Thursday 4 June at 7:00 pm, the Plaza de Toros de Las Ventas hosts one of the most significant bullfights of the San Isidro Festival, the series that best measures a matador’s true standing. Bulls from Jandilla and Vegahermosa, regularly featured at major fairs and synonymous with demanding encounters, will be fought.

The afternoon gains added importance with the presence of Borja Jiménez, who returns to Madrid at a key moment in his career, alongside two names who have left a strong impression recently at the world’s most demanding bullring.

The bullfighters on the bill

Emilio de Justo has opened the Puerta Grande at Las Ventas on five occasions, a benchmark arena renowned for its rigour and ability to judge a career with absolute precision. His most recent shoulder-high exit, achieved during the 2025 Autumn Festival, confirmed a bond built on purity, composure and an uncommon level of consistency at the world’s leading bullring. Each appearance in Madrid has strengthened his reputation as a proven and genuinely accomplished matador.

Borja Jiménez has recorded three Puerta Grande triumphs at Las Ventas, all achieved within just two seasons and always against bulls of maximum difficulty. His most notable recent milestone came in Bilbao in 2025, where he pardoned Tapaboca from La Quinta, a historic event at Vista Alegre. These successes, together with his regular performances in first-category arenas, confirm a moment of outstanding artistic solidity and projection.

Víctor Hernández burst onto the scene after opening the Puerta Grande at Las Ventas as a novillero, an achievement that immediately defined his projection. As a matador, he has delivered high-impact performances, notably his bullfight at the 2025 Autumn Festival, rewarded with an ear despite suffering a goring. His presence at major fairs and his composure against demanding bloodlines place him among the young matadors with the greatest consistency and future potential.
