2 May is the Community of Madrid Day, a public holiday of great historical and symbolic importance. It commemorates the uprising of the people of Madrid against Napoleonic troops in 1808, an event that marked the beginning of the Spanish War of Independence and became a founding moment of Madrid’s collective identity.

• Uceda Leal, a Madrid-born matador, elegant and restrained, closely linked to Las Ventas. It is worth recalling that on 2 May 2004, he faced six bulls from different breeding farms at Las Ventas and opened the Puerta Grande after cutting two ears.

• El Cid, a benchmark of powerful and technical bullfighting, especially renowned for his mastery against demanding, high-bred bulls.

• Javier Cortés, an example of commitment and courage, always willing to give his all in the most demanding bullring in the world.

Important information about access to the bullring

• Tickets will be sent in PDF format 3–4 days before the event.

• Tickets must be printed on paper.

• The printed ticket must be handed over at the entrance, where it will be validated by scanner.

• If multiple copies of the same ticket exist, only the first one presented will be valid.

• The purchase invoice does not grant access to the event.

• It is recommended to arrive at the bullring at least one hour in advance, check your entrance gate beforehand and find your seat calmly.

• Once the bullfight has started, access to your seat will not be permitted.
