Biography

Cristián Pérez is the result of a classical and patient education, one that values long-term solidity over immediate recognition. As a novillero, he delivered several noteworthy performances in demanding rings, standing out for a serious, composed approach that felt well beyond his years. He was never a bullfighter of easy headlines, but consistently left the impression of a fully formed torero.

One of the key moments of his early career came on 20 April 2024 in Algete, during the return of major bullfights to the town. Pérez delivered a high-level performance that earned him a triumphal exit on shoulders after cutting three ears. His opening bull, from Montealto, was met with a bold porta gayola reception, followed by a varied and precise cape display. With the muleta, he produced long, deep passes on both sides, highlighted by a series of low circular passes that ignited the crowd. Despite needing two descabellos after a warning, he was awarded the first ear.

Against the fourth bull of the afternoon, from Monte la Ermita, Pérez once again showed ambition and commitment, greeting the bull on his knees and delivering an ovation-worthy quite in the centre of the ring. After dedicating the bull to the crowd, he began his faena with estatuarios, building an intense and truthful performance against a bull that charged repeatedly with quality and humility. A near-full sword, after a warning, secured two further ears, while the bull itself was awarded a lap of honour, sealing a decisive afternoon for the Albacete-born matador.

From that moment on, his performances have shared a clear common thread: total commitment, honest exposure and a way of understanding muleta work rooted firmly in truth, without concessions.
